The iX3 50 xDrive offers the more convincing broad-use package: family-SUV practicality, a substantial WLTP range envelope and a lower purchase price. The Audi S e-tron GT counters with higher claimed boost output and the appeal of a low luxury grand tourer. On our wider criteria the BMW earns the higher rating; for a buyer specifically seeking the GT experience, the Audi has the more relevant strengths.
Different vehicle classes, not a like-for-like SUV shoot-out. BMW range is a specification-dependent envelope; Audi WLTP labelling is corroborated by the Australian launch review. No firsthand WattCar drive is implied.
Price bases differ. Before-on-road and drive-away amounts are not directly comparable.
Figures apply to the named grades where the canonical record establishes that match. Reported estimates and manufacturer targets are identified alongside their figures. Different range cycles cannot be directly compared. Boot figures use rear seats upright where recorded; differing measurement standards are identified and cannot be treated as directly comparable. Confirm finer details with your dealer, salesperson or manufacturer representative.

Assessment scope: Australian model range; grade distinctions retained. Price anchor: 2026 BMW iX3 50 xDrive M Sport NA5
Rating rationale: The 50 xDrive research proposition combines unusually strong WLTP range and 400 kW charging with a familiar family-SUV format. Its price is substantial, and headline specifications do not apply to every grade; software and driving refinement remain research limits.

Assessment scope: Australian model range; grade distinctions retained. Price anchor: S e-tron GT
Rating rationale: Half-point assessment recognises its GT design, updated charging and published driving appeal. The high price and specialist body still leave the BMW iX3 ahead on broader utility and value.
