We're EV people.
Different backgrounds.
Same curiosity.
WattCar brings together people from publishing, marketing and car industry backgrounds who share a passion for cars and a curiosity about where electric driving is taking us.
We own them. We drive them. We charge them. We live with them. And, like anyone spending their own money on a car, we question them.
At the heart of WattCar is the search for WattCar COTY 2027. It gives us a reason to get behind the wheel, compare the contenders and work out which plug-in cars deserve your attention. The award is an important part of why WattCar exists.
We bring different experience and perspectives to the same questions: what matters, what works, and would we actually buy it?
We respect the knowledge of Australia’s motoring journalists and draw on that expertise alongside our own experience. Our perspective starts with the everyday business of choosing, driving and living with a car.
We’re enthusiastic without being evangelical. Electric doesn’t make every car brilliant, and we’re not here to find petty faults just to sound clever.
Nor are we here to reprint press releases. We want to make the cars, the technology and the claims easier to understand, and keep a sense of perspective along the way.
We tell the facts. You can decide.
