ALFA ROMEO JUNIOR ELETTRICA
SMALL SUV

WATT MATTERS?
The Junior is Alfa Romeo's first fully electric car, squeezed into a small SUV with rather more personality than the usual anonymous crossover. The badge and styling do some heavy lifting: underneath is familiar Stellantis hardware, and this Australian 115kW Elettrica is the everyday version, not the much faster overseas Veloce.
THE BASICS
Five seats, front-wheel drive and a 54kWh battery, with 51kWh usable. Alfa quotes 407km WLTP range and a 400-litre boot. Charging peaks at 100kW DC, with a claimed 20–80% stop of 27 minutes; 11kW AC suits overnight charging. Rear-seat space deserves a proper family test before buying.

THE WATTCAR TAKE
Buy it because you like it, rather than because it wins the spreadsheet. Independent drives of the 115kW version describe easy urban progress, but disagree on how much Alfa magic reaches the steering. Its published Australian launch price of $57,900 before on-road costs asks a lot beside newer electric SUVs. Compare the current offer carefully: the cheaper Junior Ibrida is a different, petrol-powered car.
