WATT MATTERS?
Audi’s first RS plug-in hybrid is now orderable in Australia as Sedan or Avant. The new drivetrain promises striking performance, but its peak output and electric-range claims need their proper conditions.
THE BASICS
Audi quotes up to 470 kW combined output, 825 Nm and 3.6 seconds to 100 km/h. The 25.9 kWh gross battery has 22 kWh usable. Australian body pages claim 78 km electric range for Sedan and 76 km for Avant, with an ADR 81/02 laboratory-test qualification. AC charging is up to 11 kW.
